Image via Wikipedia For years he’s been trying & yesterday he got his way!
One of my best mates is a Mac freak and has been signing their praises for as long as I can remember.
I’ve resisted, not to spite him or because I have anything against Macs, but because I use a number of bespoke software programs that only run in Windows.
The Anti Hype in me has also held me back – take the iPhone for example – was that over hyped or what?
But he convinced me with a quick run through of Leopard (the newish operating system if you are unfamiliar with Macs), the bundled programs and how you can still run Windows on the Apple Mac.
I’ve used iTunes on my PC for years but on a Mac it’s a different ball game. Add the connection to your TV and flick through the album covers of your favourite music on your flat screen. I can see my work building up as I spend hours playing!
Style (which Macs have never been short of) is one thing but useability is something else. I now realise Macs ooze both – all in need to do is source replacement programs for those Windows based ones I use frequently.
I know some high profile guys love their Macs – The Tubby Nerd, Ed Dale, springs to mind. I’ll have to check out his recommended programs
I guess I’ll also have to start hanging out in different places.
It feels almost like changing the football team you support! Now that’s something I COULDN’T ever consider

The Anti Hype would jump at the chance to suggest that “17 days of glorious blue skies – with only one morning of cloud!” was over hyped – BUT, it’s 100% true!
Spain & Portugal lived up to expectations but now I’m back to my current reality – The Great British Summer.
For those of you fortunate enough not to experience it – It’s the same as winter (grey skies) but a bit warmer!
Here’s a sample of the skies I’ve got used to:
The Aqua Show Water Park in Portugal
Faro as the sun goes down
My short term plan involves ensuring I can spend about 6 weeks under skies like that every year. Can I do it?
Absolutely. The way my business is developing and with the installation of broadband at my apartment in Spain I see no reason why next year I can’t make that a reality.
6 weeks of sun, sea, golf and relaxing. With some blog posts and contact by mobile and email I can easily see myself generating the income I need to keep my going while I’m away.
There’ll be some restructuring of activities during the next few months but as part of my plan to create a new lifestyle I’m really positive and have the focus I need to make this happen.
